Videoworks unveils series of new on-board technologies at MYS

The pioneering new A/V technology is displayed in Videoworks’ ‘Emotional Room’…

During the Monaco Yacht Show, Italian company Videoworks has unveiled an impressive range of new on-board technologies. Among them new connections, intelligent environments, three-dimensional sound solutions and increasingly complex on-board systems, which are set to make drastic differences to on-board technology.

In today’s market, an intelligent environment has become paramount for superyacht owners, who are now always after the latest technology to enhance the superyacht experience. During MYS, Videoworks demonstrated how an algorithm on neural network can assess the mood of an area’s occupants and adjust both the music and lights accordingly, in what they have called ‘The Emotional Room’.

The new technology launch will appeal to those looking for an immersive listening experience. Videoworks has released a device that diffuses three-dimensional sounds in the area where it is installed, which offers customised sound experiences. Using the K-Array Viper KV52 speakers and the DSP card by Leaff Engineering, Videoworks technicians can pinpoint where to install the passive, ultrathin speakers. Phase consistency, minimal distortion and listening focalisation are the main characteristics of the speakers outlined by Videoworks.

The Italian tech company has also presented a preview of its 5G network that will go live at the end of 2019, which facilitates the presence of high-speed internet connection on board. The new network will guarantee its users high-speed connectivity at port, under sail and near the shoreline.

At the show, there are a number of yachts that benefit from Videoworks’ pioneering new systems including: 42m M/Y Navetta, 50m M/Y Latona, 60m S/Y Seven, 69m M/Y Spectre,  and more. Each of the yachts listed have their own bespoke Videoworks A/V systems, designed using the latest technology in order to create the most intelligent environment possible.
