Technology: focus of TSR June issue

The Superyacht Report’s (TSR) June issue, out now, focuses on technology and innovation. To get the most out of this fast changing, yet often, arcane subject, TSR went straight to the source of innovation. Seeking out captains, yards, designers and engineers, we asked them, what new technology or ideas are they developing and what new technologies are they predicting will change the industry?
A four-page special on ideas and product innovations, a feature on cloud computing, a look at non-toxic anti-fouling treatment for hulls and the pros and cons on the use of Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) continue the theme of technology.

VR Technology from Horizon Yachts is featured in TSR June issue
Looking at the wider issues and events taking place in the industry across the globe are several in depth features. With yachts such as Arcadia increasingly cruising to remote and intrepid Arctic and Antarctic locations, European editor, Justin Ratcliffe ponders the burgeoning phenomenon of explorer yachts and investigates whether their description fits their vocation.

From New Zealand, Pacific editor Ellie Brade reports on the launch of Alloy Yachts’ biggest motoryacht to date, 47m Loretta Anne. We report from the Hainan Rendezvous in China, go below decks in Holland on new J class yacht, Rainbow to explore her amazing hybrid engine and power system and from St Barths Bucket, a photo essay shows the high seas drama in all its water drenching glory.

There are columns from industry contributors, including Tony Rice, secretary general to ICOMIA, tackling the latest ISO Standards developed for the superyacht industry. We also hear from industry veteran Jim Gilbert who makes a call for strong leaders to act on behalf of the superyacht community. As always, there are columns from TSR's editors at the London HQ and across the world. This issue sees business editor Don Hoyt Gorman writing on the Smart Network, and US editor Esther Barney makes a case for America leading the way in the post-crash revival of the yachting market.
And as with every issue, there is the latest business, product and fleet news, Editor-In-Chief, Martin H Redmayne’s Stern Words and much more.
