First online network for superyacht owners goes exclusive

The Superyacht Group has launched the second phase of its new website, TheSuperyachtOwner.com (TSO), which features the first online networking platform for superyacht owners to share and seek advice.

From 1 June, access will be open to members only. A five-day trial will allow those still wanting to experience the unique features of the site to enter, however, when this expires there will be a request sent to join as an exclusive member. This is to build upon TSO's promise to provide an exclusive environment for aspiring and current owners to exchange ideas and gain valuable information on superyacht ownership.

The site’s unique, private features for members include a discussions hub where the group’s editors and members can debate ownership concerns and share cruise destinations, whilst the ‘Request advice’ button puts any question directly in the hands of experts from the industry and the website’s experienced editors.

TheSuperyachtOwner.com launched in March in tandem with The Superyacht Owner magazine, providing owners and aspiring owners a practical guide to buying and owning a superyacht. Content ranges from the exciting and inspirational, such as the best brokerage houses' superyachts available to buy or charter, to the more serious issues. The latter sees industry experts presenting pressing issues associated with ownership, such as berthing your yacht (advice from Nick Maris at Camper and Nicholsons Marinas) or advice to new and returning owners when they are considering a new build (exclusive interview with Fabio Ermetto, Sales and Marketing Director at Heesen Yachts).


Lauren Barker, managing editor of TheSuperyachtOwner.com, explained why the website has an important place in the superyacht marketplace.

“Ownership can be a daunting process, either for first-time buyers or existing owners coping with legal and financial issues that are part and parcel of ownership. TheSuperyachtOwner.com provides a place where they can source reliable, credible information and advice to make the process a smoother experience,” she said.


In readiness for phase two of its genesis as an exclusive portal, the site has also been fine tuned. Users will notice a change in the design to make the experience more enjoyable, and the site easier to navigate.

The simple design is, of course, in the spirit of TheSuperyachOwner.com, which values simplicity. This ethos carries through the site, from its intelligent and approachable design to the feature style, presented as bite sized, informative articles to suit the busy lifestyles of its ultra high net worth members.
