Lasersec Systems launches laser-based deterrent system SeaLase II
By Lulu Trask | Other articles by this author
Lasersec Systems has launched its new high power, non-lethal laser system SeaLase II. Lasers are often used as part of superyacht security systems as a deterrent for paparazzi and robbers.
Based on the same patented high power laser technology (5,000mW, or up to 20,000 mW on request) as the original, the SeaLase II integrates a multifunctional beam director and surveillance platform.
The electronically variable beam divergence gives the user the option of different operations: suppression/deterrence, hail/warning and illumination. The wide-angle illumination mode allows the integrated camera to operate in complete darkness consequently reducing the need for thermal imaging. The illumination mode also scans the surrounding area for the presence of magnifying optical devices at a safe intensity level.
An optional built-in laser rangefinder provides safe and effective operation as it ensures the correct amount of laser power is uses in each operational mode.
The sealed optical payload can be mounted on a gyro-stabilised pan and tilt platform that is designed for 24/7 use in all weather conditions.
The SeaLase II also includes optional radar slew-to-cue, video target tracking, and map pointing.
The SeaLase II
The SeaLase II will be presented at The Superyacht Security Summit, which will run back to back with The Superyacht Fiscal Summit on 29 March. To attend these events please visit our registration page at www.superyachtevents.com/registration.asp.
