Energy Solutions have launched their first 24 volt Lithium Ion Battery for the marine market this month.

The demand for intelligent batteries which allow greater capacity and optimise power use is on the increase across the marine market. Energy Solutions are addressing that demand with a brand new battery which is designed to be a simple swap out for lead acid batteries. With all the protection and control built in - it is as close to a like for like swap as you can get.

Energy Solutions’ MD Paul Holland explains the technology: “The battery is composed of Lithium-iron-phosphate (LiFePO4 or LFP), the safest of the mainstream Li-ion battery type. With a capacity of 400 Ah (10.4kWh) the battery caters for applications with high energy requirements.

As well as this there are numerous other advantages to Lithium Ion:

• Weight reduction -up to 80% lighter than lead acid batteries (for same useable capacity)
• Fast recharging - can be fully recharged within one hour
• Conversion efficiency - 99% efficient at converting charge energy to charge source
• Less Bulky, 1/3 less space
• Longer Service Life, 2000 - 3000 cycles
• No Sulphating - can be left in a discharge state without damage
• Low self- discharge rate
• Great for situations with long periods of non-use

Those interested in the new ES Lithium Ion Li3PO4 battery can request a datasheet and pricing from sales@energy-solutions.co.uk or call 0044 1634 290772.
