The increasing use of social media as a means to find customers, promote services and connect with colleagues continues to increase across many industries. In the SuperYacht world it has been a slow uptake but more companies are now finding their voice and posting, sharing and liking.

Now, a new social networking site has been launched specifically for the SuperYacht industry and it already has several hundred people jumping onboard, including SuperYacht owners, captain, architect, designer, crew and journalists.

SuperYachters.com is the brainchild of Lomond Yachts founder and CEO, Douglas McFarlane.  "I was often asked if I knew someone who could provide a particular product or service. I wanted to connect those people together in a way that was quick and easy', advises McFarlane.

The community was quickly formed and in the short space of time, brokers are showcasing their yachts, designers are posting their ideas, crew are highlighting their availability, and journalists are publishing their articles.

The service is like a combination of linkedin, pinterest, facebook and twitter rolled in together, and provides profiles of members who subscribe. Posting a press release or article is a simple task and links, videos can be posted to enrich the content. The power of the software platform, is that articles can be shared widely by the community on their own social media networks, thus vastly extending the reach of the product or service update.

McFarlane continues, "I have setup SuperYachters linkedin groups, twitter accounts and facebook pages and automated some features in order to help make members posts travel further. As a community we encourage others to be supportive too as they also want to showcase other SuperYachts or products and services on their social media".

Extended the service further, there's a dashboard and content provision service called LondonLinking.com which takes the effort out of creating content and publishing. Experts are available to profile your business and ensure your branding, tone of voice and style of posts are created every day on twitter, linkedin or facebook.

"Social media and social networking are here to stay and judging by the response we've had, tools and services like these are a welcome addition to the SuperYacht community", McFarlane adds.
