The Maritime Skills Academy, Viking Recruitment's new training department brings HELM (Management Level) to their ever increasing portfolio of courses. The team at the Dover headquarters are excited to bring a variation of courses to the yacht industry. some details on the HELM course are below.

Duration: 5 days

Fee: £750 (incl. VAT) per delegate

Course dates:
23rd to 27th March 2015 (more dates will be released shortly)

Prerequisites: Learners shall hold a Deck or Engineering Certificate of Competency at the operational level and meet the minimum seagoing service requirements for the issue of a management level CoC.

The aim of this 5 day course is to give all Masters and Officers the education and training in the human element leadership and management at management level meeting the Knowledge, Understanding and Proficiency (KUP) requirements set out in the following:

Table A-II/2 (Master and Chief Mates on ships of 500 gross tonnage or more)
Table AIII/2 (Chief Engineer Officers and Second Engineer Officers on ships powered by main propulsion machinery of 750kW or more).

Upon completion of the course you will be presented with the original certificate.
