In 20 years of design experience Robert has been involved with every all scales of design and production. He maintains a passion for new materials, details and the combining of components as key elements to achieving novel and elegant design. He cherishes the teams and partnerships he has participated in, and strives to build strong relationships and partnerships for the future.
Before founding Etcetera, he spent 7 years as an Associate Architect and Knowledge Platform Research Coordinator at UNStudio where lead many international architectural projects, European Commission funded (FP7/H2020) research projects and product development projects. As the Knowledge Platform Research Coordinator, he was the driving force behind the shift of UNStudio from a network-based to a knowledge-based practice. Prior to that he worked for many years with influential international architecture offices, Jean Nouvel and Coop- Himmelb(l)au, among others.
Along the way, Robert was greatly influenced by fellow students, instructors and mentors at the University of California – Los Angeles (MArchI 2005) and the Georgia Institute of Technology (BS 2000). During his time at Georgia Tech he had the unparalleled experience of studying at the EĢcole d’architecture Paris-La Villette.
When not occupied with the work of Etcetera, Robert is a father, a devotee of too many podcasts, an obsessive runner, an avid hiker, and a restorer vintage bicycles.
