Following two years in the Italian Navy, naval architect and marine engineer Lorenzo Pollicardo spent 12 years at RINA – the Italian Class Society – as Head of the Yachting Department and Shipping Certification Department. Between 1999 and 2008, he joined the Italian marine industry association UCINA as Secretary General where he was also Chairman of the ICOMIA Technical Committee and the ICOMIA Super Yacht Committee, General Director of the European Boating Federation, and CEO of the ViareggiofUCINA, the Italian School of Yachting.
Between 2009 and 2019 he worked with Expo Venice on the marine and maritime events; at The Docks, a PR agency, where he founded the new Yachting Section; as strategic consultant around his home town of Genoa and the Ligurian region; and representing CNA-Nautica. He also coordinated the organisation of YARE. From 2015 he served as Secretary General of Nautica Italiana - the Italian marine inudstry association - and in 2019 he joined SYBAss as Technical and Environmental Director where he serves, among other things, as a liaison between the superyacht industry and the IMO.
