Why attend the Global Superyacht Forum: Owners

This year, the Global Superyacht Forum programme specifically aims to draw hugely important sector of the superyacht market: Yacht Owners. …

In less than 3 weeks time, over 500 senior management and CEO’s of the superyacht industry join together in Amsterdam from the 17 – 19 November for the 20th anniversary of the Global Superyacht Forum (GSF). Shipyard CEO's, brokers, managers, designers, lawyers and project managers, coupled with a diverse mix of the supply chain, will be all sharing their views and opinions on what really needs to change in the industry. This year, the programme specifically aims to draw a hugely important sector of the superyacht market: Yacht Owners. The three days of superyacht theory, debate and analysis are focussed to encourage a bigger and better industry, so who better to attend than those who reap the rewards of the market’s improvements?

Keynote sessions at this November’s forum cover diverse areas affecting all stages of ownership, from ‘Breaking Brokerage’ on day one, pioneering new technology in our Innov*8 session on day two to day three’s BV80 case study, showcasing the Blohm + Voss collaboration with Inaria and Eidsgaard Design studios.  Day three of GSF, Wednesday 19 November, also sees Alexandra Cousteau take to the stage to discuss how the superyacht industry can collaborate with marine conservationists in working towards a better ocean for all.

Owners provide a unique perspective on the various roles, sectors and issues in the superyacht industry; their participation in many of this year’s focus groups would reveal rare insights into the opinions, wants and desires of a yacht owner.

Owners: “Can we present a clearer picture of the realities of ownership in order to ensure owners know what they’re getting into?”
The contributions of Owners in this group will enlighten and inspire all involved to improve how the industry attracts potential Owners and retains existing ones.

Manning: “Building the right workforce at the same time as building the right yacht – are we mentoring and training enough?”
As recipients of the quality service of crew, Owners contribute a different perspective on crew relations and training. What changes would they like to see onboard and ashore?

Brokerage: "When did brokers become the bad guys and can we change their image?’"
Finally, as clients of Brokers, this group would invite Owners to discuss their practices, areas for improvements and reputation as the ‘bad guys’.
