The new Miraggio Thermal Spa Resort in Greece is set to welcome a marina to its portfolio, alongside its other offerings of a hotel and spa. Opening in May, the Miraggio Marina will be located on the east coast of Kassandra, Halkidiki.

The marina will house 81 boats, up to 40m in length, and will provide 24-hour security and manning across the 50,000sqm site. The marina will play host to a seafood restaurant and café, and will act has an extension of the seafront Miraggio Thermal Spa Resort, which houses 300 rooms.

As well as focusing on the minimum impact on sea flora and fauna, the main consideration behind Miraggio Marina’s design and construction has been the the maximum physical water circulation, in order to avoid bacteria development that may impact on a yacht’s hull.

Speaking exclusively to SuperyachtNews.com, marina manager Konstantinos Dedes explains that the interest in berthing from superyachts at the new marina is twofold. “In terms of long term berthing, the interest from superyachts is quite small, as the marina does not have nearby shipyards or a network of local yachting expertise,” he explains.

“For short term berthing our main strategy is to develop the marina as a hub for superyachts in order to embark and/or disembark their guests using the marina's facilities, and making use of our transfer services or helipad to be taken to Thessaloniki's airport. We have developed a wide range of products and services specifically designed for superyacht guests, meaning they can use the spa and have a relaxing interval between their destinations.”
