"I told Perini Navi I wanted to see the last 10 boats they built so I could work out what I did and didn’t like.” Issue twenty-three’s cover star, George Economou, the very happy owner of S/Y Baracuda, speaks to The Superyacht Owner about helping to create his dream yacht and his many sailing trips around the Greek islands.
Also in this issue, we speak to owner Kim Schindelhauer of S/Y WinWin about choosing wildcard naval architect Javier Jaudenes for his 33m racer cruiser. The gamble has clearly paid off, with the yacht since sailing over 20,000 nautical miles and recently winning the Palma Superyacht Cup. ”Choosing a designer is a major decision and it can go so wrong, but I had a good feeling in my gut about Javier,” explains Schindelhauer.
Andrey Lomakin, owner and CEO of West Nautical, also talks us through his first commissioned project – a Mulder 94 Voyager named Firefly while Paolo Scudieri, CEO of Adler Group, enthuses about his forthcoming yacht, the very first Arcadia 100. “I was drawn to Arcadia because of its technological approach,” he explains.

Elsewhere in this issue, we head to the Amalfi Coast to explore a superyachting hotspot, speaking to some enthusiastic owners along the way, and we turn to our intelligence team to help us assess the superyachting landscape for the remainder of 2016. Martin Baum, CEO of yacht insurance specialists, Pantaenius, also talks about his rise to the top and Lulu Trask, editor of sister title The Crew Report, ponders where responsibilities lie when it comes to safety on board.
All this and so much more, including opinion columns from our international editorial bureau and a sneak peak at our new Superyacht Owner’s VIP Lounge at the Monaco Yacht Show. See you there!
