Lantic gets the ‘wow’ effect at Monaco

Denmark’s Lantic Entertainment Systems, developer of integrated entertainment systems for superyachts, has caused some mouths to open at Monaco through demonstrations of its new streaming features on Ipads.

Speaking from stand QP55 Parvis Piscine, Lantic's Peter Bouman said, “The moment we demonstrate Lantics new features we get the "wow" effect!”

Lantic is showing its new, and rather exciting two-way content exchange between Lantic systems and portable Apple devices.

It opens up the possibility to do two things, which contribute hugely to enjoyment and ease of entertainment and movies on board and elsewhere.

Firstly, viewing or listening to content stored on an iPad or iPhone on a Lantic system is easy. As Bouman is demonstrating to visitors, the user ensures the portable device is connected to Wi-Fi network, presses the 'Stream' icon that appears at the bottom of the 'Play Now' screen and then selects Lantic Entertainment System. Sound, video or photographs can all then be enjoyed on the big screen using local amplifier and speakers.



Operating on the reverse process, sending TV, movies, CCTV from the Lantic System to the iPad / iPhone, is what makes it clever. Lantic users can access the on board entertainment system  using Wi-Fi access via Apple devices. Essentially fixed screens and speakers are not needed to access music, movies and satellite or terrestrial TV.

“Of course, fixed screens and speakers will still have a valuable role to play in any entertainment system,” said Bouman, “but this new ability to broadcast high quality content from the central servers to remote devices will certainly lead to a change in the ratio of fixed to portable screens on board many yachts. 

“Tablets are so much more convenient, and this development allows different media to be accessed at the same time within a single zone, providing more choice and more convenience.”

Lantic also displays its third generation cabin control unit – the YCS (Yacht Control System) –with a stylish new keypad and more compact, easy to install size at Monaco. The YCS allows integration of cabin control – lighting, climate, blinds - at the touch of a button, iPad or Lantic remote.
