Burgess brings its famous five to Monaco
The chosen fleet, all over 45m, include yachts by Benetti, Cantieri di Pisa, Feadship and the much heralded Candyscape II by Viareggio Superyachts.
First in the fleet is 44.2m Domani launched in 2004 by Benetti. She has an ‘elegant, understated’ interior and a flexible layout to maximise space and natural light throughout the guest living areas.
The main deck saloon and bar are adjoined by a library, while the sky lounge on the upper deck boasts a comfortable bar area and floor-to-ceiling retractable glass doors around a spacious dining area. A sundeck has the full set of amenities including jacuzzi, bar, dining table, large seating areas and custom-made awnings.
Accommodation is for 10 to 12 guests in five cabins.
The second yacht and another Benetti build is 56m Galaxy launched in 2005.
Exhibiting a combination of sleek Italian exterior styling with an efficient layout that takes full advantage of the yacht’s guest spaces, she is a very modern yacht. Contemporary, modern design is the key feature of her bespoke, light-filled interior, which incorporates geometric and functional styling and is finished in a range of exotic woods including eucalyptus, sycamore, ash and Burma teak parquet.
Described by her agents Burgess as a ‘highly versatile’ yacht suited to intimate, private cruising or family and group charters, Galaxy has a range of attractive features. These include a ‘stunning’, bright, sky lounge with 180° panoramic views, home cinema, gaming tables and bar. A spacious sundeck has an air-conditioned gym also with panoramic views, a jacuzzi sheltered by glass wind screens, bar, dining and snack table along with large sun lounging area, all of which can be converted for heli capability. Other highlights are an elevator that serves all decks, an extensive inventory of watersports equipment and a dedicated wine cellar.
Accommodation is for up to 14 guests in 6 cabins over three decks.
Newly launched 46.57m Project 12, built by Cantieri di Pisa / Pisa Superyachts, Italy offers ‘exhilarating’ performance generated by twin 4,670hp MTU engines. Conceived by and built for an experienced yacht owner she has interior design by Mark Berryman and Italian exterior styling by Carlo Galeazzi.
Living areas are generous throughout. The full beam sky lounge on the upper deck has large sliding doors to port and starboard and bulwarks that fold down to create a balcony on each side with 180° views, flooding the interior with natural light. The main saloon provides a versatile living space with comfortable seating areas, a bar and separate music or library area aft of the formal dining room. Project 12 also features a floating glass staircase leading from the main deck up, with a large skylight overhead illuminating the interior.
Accommodation is for twelve to fourteen guests in 6 to 7 cabins.
Launched in 1990 by Feadship De Vries with a major rebuild in 2008/9 by the same builder, 49.8m Inevitable's is a traditional ‘gentleman’s yacht.’ Light teak paneling, coffered overheads, gold plated hardware, and original artwork throughout - the work of interior designer Patrick Knowles - demonstrate her elegance. There is a main saloon, adjacent dining room, sky lounge which hosts a fully stocked bar, game table, powder room, and wide screen TV. The main deck has an intimate lounging area while the upper deck provides covered dining for 12. The sundeck boasts a shaded bar, sunning area, and a large jacuzzi.
Inevitable accommodates ten guests in five cabins.
One of the most talked about deliveries of recent years, and the fifth yacht in Burgess’ fleet is 61.8m Candyscape II.
The latest yacht from the Candy brothers was launched in 2009, by Viareggio Superyachts with exterior design by Espen Øino. Candyscape II’s luxurious interior design scheme incorporates rich leathers, silks, stainless steel, glass and almond gold detailing with accents of Macassar ebony and black lacquer and some interesting design features. The formal reception opens aft onto the main deck seating area and flows forward to the dining room. This area can be completely separated from or opened up to the reception area with impressive rotating dividers, while the table itself can be converted into a baize-covered French roulette/card table with bespoke professional roulette wheel. The styling continues through the principal living areas of Candyscape II including a well-equipped main deck gymnasium, a media room/sky lounge cinema on the bridge deck and a segmented sun orrery mounted on the ceiling charting the movements of the solar system.
