Yachtzoo has announced that its partners have appointed David Ross as CEO of its US office, effective 7 July 2016.
“I joined Yachtzoo because I wanted to be a part of a company where I believe the possibilities are limitless, and I am completely convinced that Yachtzoo is that company,” began Ross. For over 15 years, Ross was President, CEO and co-owner of Burger Boat Company, where he was closely involved with clients in the sale, design and construction of 35 yachts.
With his background in mind, Ross hopes to specialise in new construction and build upon the strong, already established platforms of sales, charter and yacht management.
“The opportunity that lies ahead for Yachtzoo is enormous, and the ability to lead this next chapter is deeply humbling and incredibly exhilarating”, continued Ross. “I am focused on accelerating the innovation and execution that our customers need and expect from us. I couldn’t be more confident in our ability to win, or more honoured to be a leader of this great company.”
Yachtzoo has recently lost several employees to the new brokerage firm, Superyacht Sales and Charter, but Ross insists that this transition period has not been to the detriment of the firm’s progression or motivation – and that the market, despite its national and governmental ebbs and flows, is looking optimistic.
Supplementary to Ross’ comments, founding partner Darrell Hall added, “We've selected a very strong leader at a time that Yachtzoo is in a very strong position. David will move the company forward with the speed required to capitalise on the opportunities in front of us. He is a champion of the Yachtzoo culture and has an incredible ability to inspire, energise, and connect with employees and customers.”
