Following a busy start to the year, regular launch activity continued in February. The biggest yacht to splash was the 88.5m Y707, built by Oceanco.

AD5 - At the end of 2011 Turkish yard Agantur launched the 31.7m motoryacht AD5, which features a distinctive exterior paint job and is able to cruise at 10 to 12 knots. Read more here.



Lars
- The 36.4m explorer vessel, Lars was launched amid arctic conditions at Stemat Marine Services in the Netherlands. The superyacht was finished at Stemat, with prior work conducted at Balk Shipyards. With naval architecture by Herman Jansen Holland, Lars accommodates eight guests and five crewmembers. Capable of a top speed of 13 knots, she has a range of 6420nm at 10 knots. She has a draft of 2.8m and a beam of 7.8m. Read more here.



Majesty 135
- UAE yard Gulf Craft recently launched its first hull of their Majesty 135 design superyacht. With three decks and more than 41m in overall length, it is Gulf Craft’s largest Majesty Yacht ever built. Gulf Craft also confirmed the delivery of a Mayesty 121. Read more here.



Miamaa
- On February 25th Benetti undertook the technical launch of the 31.75m Miamaa, the 25th unit of the new Benetti Tradition 105’ line. Following the technical launch, outfitting and finishing will now proceed according to the established production plan, before Miamaa is delivered to her owners. Read more here.



Rainbow
- Holland Jachtbouw launched the 40m J-Class replica, Rainbow. The yacht is modelled on the eponymous winner of the1934 edition of the America’s Cup but comes with a high-end interior and a state-of-the-art hybrid propulsion system. She will now undergo sea trials in preparation for the busy summer schedule of sailing regattas. Read more here.



Step One
- Dutch yard Amels launched the first LIMITED EDITIONS 180 superyacht, Step One. The 55m superyacht has been designed by Tim Heywood and her build has been overseen by Moran Yacht and Ship. Read more here.



Y707
- On January 29 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, Oceanco launched its 88.5m superyacht, hull no. Y707.  Australian-based Sam Sorgiovanni Designs boasts both the exterior and interior design of this magnificent yacht. The owner’s requirements were accommodated, with no sacrifice to the voluminous yacht’s sleek profile. Read more here.




Fleet News

In other fleet news in February the Soraya 46 is nearing completion [click here to read]. Fitting out has also begun for the first yacht in Benetti Sail Division’s Logica Line, the BSD Logica 98 [click here to read].

The 46m Dubois designed yacht, design number 368, began construction at Feadship [click here to read]. Christensen Shipyards also revealed that they have sold a Custom Series 160’ superyacht [click here to read]. Further great news for the order book came as ISA announced their third new build sale in eight months, with their three new orders totalling 161m [click here to read].

In refit news, Pendennis Plus completed their refit on Dona Amelia [click here to read], Endeavour successfully completed her sea trials after her refit at Yachting Developments [click here to read], and Moonen are undertaking refit work on the Moonen 84 Aurora [click here to read]. 90m Athena also completed a 9 month refit at Orams Marine [click here to read].
