Polish shipyard Sunreef Yachts has launched the first of a series of new catamaran motoryachts, the 25m Sunreef 82 Double Deck, just in time for the 2012 boat show season. The superyacht was launched last weekend at the shipyard’s Gdansk facility in Poland.

Able to accommodate seven guests and two to three crew, the Sunreef 82 Double Deck boasts naval architecture, exterior design and interior design by the shipyard itself, according to whom, she has been designed with “a yacht layout, not a typical catamaran layout,” and as such is more spacious than typical catamarans of her size.

An spacious owner cabin features in the front of the double deck, alongside a large and bright salon, included within which is an internal helm station with sea views.

According to the shipyard, “the Sunreef 82 demonstrates that catamarans could easily become the superyachts of the future with their high comfort on board and low fuel consumption resulting from low draught and the option of cruising under sails.” The Sunreef 82 has a draught of 2m, and is powered by two Cummins engines of 265kW each.

The catamaran, intended for private use only, is now to undergo her final fitting out before heading to the south of France to take part in the Cannes International Boat Show, and then to Monaco for Europe’s most anticipated boat show of the year.

The shipyard, which two weeks ago announced it was at full capacity, is expecting to launch two further vessels in the coming weeks.
