Royal Huisman closed 2013 on a high, signing an order for a 43.5m Frers-designed sloop with a Rhoades Young interior for a Taiwanese owner.

Royal Huisman Regional Liaison, Bart J. Kimman, director of Northrop & Johnson Asia, following introduction acted as liaison between the client and shipyard during the negotiations to secure this order. As a very experienced yachtsman the client, a Taiwanese national has made clear his intentions to attend future superyacht regattas with this new yacht that will be christened as Sea Eagle.

The yard has long been building its presence in the South-East Asia region, with investment including a presence at the Hainan Rendezvous and Singapore Yacht Shows and Regional Liaisons based in China. The order, the first for Royal Huisman in
this region, shows that the yards commitment to the region has not been unfounded and the yard say that the order is the direct result of the yard’s long-term commitment to developing business in the region.  the Royal Huisman team see today’s announcement representing not just that of “a valued new order” but of “a firm foothold in a valued new market”.

Sea Eagle joins three other orders in the Royal Huisman order book. Under construction are 46m Hull 392, a Hoek designed ketch, 48m Hull 393, a Hoek designed sloop, and a confidential <40m sailing yacht order.
