Perini Navi sells second 42m E-volution sailing yacht

Perini Navi has announced the sale of the second 42m sailing yacht in the E-volution line, scheduled to be delivered in spring 2021. The 42m aluminium sloop is the first unit in the GTS series, designed by Perini Navi with naval architecture by Reichel/Pugh Design. The interior design will be by Barcelona-based firm GCA and Perini Navi jointly.

Based on the platform developed for the first 42m E-volution sailing yacht – the sale of which was announced in July this year – several aspects of the naval architecture have been modified to meet the client’s needs. The mast has been increased to 62.5m and the keel has been extended to a maximum depth of 7.4m.

The new sail plan features a square top mainsail, an extended boom and a 4m bowsprit to maximise sail surface area. To improve performance further, a series of changes have also been made to significantly reduce displacement, which includes streamlining the deck house and the use of carbon for various fittings, as well as the optimisation of the propulsion system and structural features.

Other sailing yachts currently under construction at Perini Navi include the first unit of the 42m E-volution line, a 47m E-volution yacht and a 60m ketch. The yard also has a 53m Voyager motoryacht and 56m Voyager High Profile motoryacht in build.
