Drettmann Yachts begins construction on first yacht in new explorer line

Construction has begun on the 32m Drettmann Explorer Yacht (DEY), the first yacht in Drettmann's new explorer yacht line.
It will also be the first superyacht from the company since merging in December 2010 with Sunrise yachts in Turkey to become the Drettmann-Sunrise Group.
The 32m DEY is being built at the Sunrise yard in Antalya, Turkey, whilst design and engineering is by Drettmann Yachts and Focus Yacht Design. It provides the template for operations whereby the relatively young yard, Sunrise, will deliver the manufacturing and craftsmanship, whilst the established Drettmann Yachts, adds its 40 years of international repute as well as design, marketing and management prowess.
The steel has been cut for the 32m explorer yacht and keel laying is planned for February 2012. She is planned for exhibition at the 2013 Cannes and Monaco boat shows.
32m Drettmann Explorer Yacht (DEY)
The Drettmann Explorer Yacht line comprises yachts of 27 to 45m long. Sporty features of this line include a beach club, swimming platforms at the sides and a lounge area with sauna or steam bath, which can be built as a gym depending on the owner's preference. It is described as “the ultimate close encounter with the sea, aesthetically designed and highly functional.”

Other features include room for tenders and surfboards, diving equipment and water toys, an individually furnished foredeck and a spacious interior.
Construction is also ready to begin on a 32m yacht from the company's second new line, the Drettmann Motor Yacht (DMY). Designs and tank tests on the DMY have been completed and construction begins in Spring 2012. DMY is also available at 27m and 37m lengths.

Drettmann Yachts will show the two new lines at Boot Düsseldorf (21 - 29 January, Hall 6, D21 and D22) as well as its range of brokerage yachts.
