Amels sells new 55m Limited Editions superyacht
The new project will be delivered in less than a year…
Dutch superyacht builder, Amels has announced the sale of a new 55m superyacht from its semi-custom Limited Editions range. Currently referred to as the Amels 180, the new project has been designed by Tim Heywood, as well as input from the owner, who added in a number of design features, and designer Bonesteel Trout Hall, a California-based boutique residential studio, which worked on the yacht’s interiors.
“The owner was looking for proven ocean-going performance so he and his family can enjoy destinations around the world,” says Rutger Dolk, part of the Amels commercial team. “We can’t wait to see this custom Amels 180 cruising in the beautiful Exumas or across to the Pacific just like her sisterships do.”
As per the owner’s choice, the Bonesteel Trout Hall-designed interiors were created in close collaboration with his family, as well as the Amels interior team. The yacht’s exterior has also been customised by the owner to feature a blue-tone hull and anthracite-grey superstructure.
“The owner and his family have been very involved in the custom exterior and interior design,” Dolk continues. “Creating such a bespoke yachting experience, while still offering delivery in less than a year, is a great compliment to our design and project teams and demonstrates how well our Limited Editions approach works.”
According to The Superyacht Intelligence Agency, Amels has delivered a total of 12 Amels 180s and has a further two under construction, including this recently sold model. So far this year, Amels has delivered a total of four superyachts this year – one of which (M/Y Eji), was also an Amels 180 - with a cumulative LOA of 249.1m.
Since the Limited Editions range was first created by Amels in collaboration with Tim Heywood more than 10 years ago, it has proved to be one of the most successful semi-custom superyacht ranges to date.
The next available Amels 180 is also under construction and scheduled for a summer 2020 delivery.
