Dutch superyacht builder Amels has announced the sale of a new 55m Amels 180 superyacht from its highly successful Limited Editions range. Having now delivered a total of 12 Amels 180s since the line was introduced, and with a further two 180s under construction including the new sale, the range is still proving to be extremely popular, more than 10 years after the yacht was first designed by Tim Heywood.

For this unit, the owner – who was represented by Mark Woodmansey of Burgess – has created a bespoke exterior colour scheme in collaboration with Tim Heywood and the in-house Amels design team. Further to that, the exterior design will not deviate from the classic Amels 180, however, the interiors by Laura Sessa will be created in line with the owner’s requests.

So far this year, Amels has seen the completion of three superyachts and plan to deliver one more vessel, 62m M/Y Sea & Us, bringing its 2018 delivery figures up to four, double that of 2017.

“I am delighted with this milestone sale of the latest Amels 180,” says Woodmansey. “Following the sale of M/Y Eji earlier in the year, this latest purchase cements the successful, long running partnership between Burgess and Amels. We look forward to delivering this new yacht to her owner and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Rose [Damen] and her team for their assistance.”

At 671gt, some of the notable features include the 180sqm sundeck, which is particularly large for a 55m vessel and the folding balconies off the owner’s suite that is situated on the main deck. The new owner will not have to wait long for the new vessel to hit the water having purchased the yacht with less than a year to go before its completion.
