‘Strong dollar promising for FLIBS' says Jan Jaap Minnema of Fraser

With 2014 winding down, many brokers are reflecting on the year and assessing the rise and fall of sales year on year. Sales broker at Fraser Yachts, Jan Jaap Minnema commented, “personally, 2014 went extremely well with an accumulated length of over 260m in sales, with a few more in the pipeline to close the year. The mood was generally good. However, we need to [continue] looking at the long-term and not cheer too much early on. Hard work and client satisfaction remain necessary more than ever”.

As the industry awaits the outcome fof intent and offers at MYS, Minnema shares a similar sentiment to those on the ground. “I have a feeling that the number of clients were less than previous years, and although it is a cliché, we truly only know in the coming weeks whether we can deem the show a success or not,” he said. Looking ahead and across the pond, Minnema will have 45m My Trust Fund at FLIBS, following her positive response at MYS. “With the strong US dollar, I think there will be a lot of buying power out there and as such, I’m positive for the outcome”.

The week running 14 - 20 October saw three sales completed, five new central agencies announced, and 13 price reductions made.
