‘Alpha’ is top this week
As Q1 comes to a close, we can see that sales are slightly down from Q1 of 2013. The 39 sales completed last year had a combined overall length of 1576m, while the 31 of this year, come in only slightly under at 1304m. While not all bad news, December of 2013 saw a large spike in the number of sales completed and as such a slight dip is only natural. With the lengths remaining steady, the market is seeing larger resale yachts being snatched up in the first quarter of 2014 with many brokers remaining optimistic for the rest of the year.
The week running 25 – 31 March saw one sale completed, three new central agencies announced, and seven price reductions made.
The sole sale completed this week was through Stuart Larsen and Josh Gulbranson of Fraser Yachts with 45.42m Alpha. New to the market last year, and built by Newcastle, she was listed at $31,500,000.
New Central Agencies
There were three new CAs announced this week, dropping slightly from last week’s five. The new listings had a total combined length of 154.5m, with their combined asking prices totalling €38,338,228 ($52,800,000).
The largest new CA announced this week was through Stuart Larsen of Fraser Yachts with 1983 Feadship Van Lent built 67.3m White Cloud, currently priced at $10,900,000.
Frank Grzeszczak and Frank Grzeszczak Jr. of International Yacht Collection have listed 2004 Trinity built 47.9m Chevy Toy for sale at $13,900,000.
The final new listing is from Northrop & Johnson as they join Burgess in the sale of 2012 Newcastle built 39.3m Safira, currently on the market at $28,000,000 following a price reduction.
Price reductions dropped to seven announced this week from the 13 of last week. The following yachts are still on the market and looking for a buyer:
The largest yacht to be reduced this week was 2005 ISA built 47m Olah. Listed through Eric Trupheme of Ocean Independence, she is now priced at €12,800,000.
Antonio Yturbe Redo and Robert Shepherd of Edmiston have reduced 2005 Benetti built 36m Domani to €10,400,000.
Two reductions from Fraser Yachts this week: Richard Earp has reduced 1998 Baglietto built 36m Ilios to €1,350,000; and Antoine Larricq has lowered the asking price of 2003 Benetti built 34.95m Latiko, to €4,750,000.
Merle Wood & Associates and Burgess have reduced 2011 Benetti built 45m Told U So to $19,950,000.
Moran Yacht & Ship have done a currency change on 2006 Moonen built 34.7m Beluga, now priced at $10,500,000.
The final reduction this week is from Mark Osterhaven of Worth Avenue Yachts with 33.5m 1994 Broward built By Grace, now priced at $1,795,000.
Will Bishop of YPI has announced that 42.36m 1990 Royal Huisman built Cyclos III is to be sold by sealed bid on 8 May with a starting price of €2,750,000.
