CRN signs letter of intent for two 44m projects
By Ellie Brade
Italian yard CRN, part of the Ferretti Group has announced two letters of intent for 44m motoryachts. This good news follows the yard's January announcement of a letter of intent for a 68m motoryacht for a Chinese client.
These two new builds will be from from CRN's new SuperConero 44 line, and will be built for a Middle Eastern and a European client. The SuperConero 44 model, which was formally launched at the Monaco Yacht Show 2014, draws on the 1970s CRN design of the same name. The displacement motoryacht design has a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, and has been designed by Zuccon International Project, with project design by CRN Engineering. The design incorporates all the most popular features of CRN yachts over the years including a large stern beach club and a floodable tender garage. Transatlantic range, large internal volumes and the predominant use of glass for large floor-to-ceiling windows are all aspects of the design that the yard says makes the SuperConero 44 a stand out vessel.
"I am happy about the signing of these two Letters of Intent for the 44m SuperConero Line; this confirms that we have made the right choices in a very important segment of market for CRN," said Lamberto Tacoli, Chairman and CEO of CRN. "The shipyard is working hard to plan and produce 'unique products' which will make these jewels loved and utilised by their owners. The European and Middle-Eastern Nationality of Prospects means continuity in historically strategic markets for CRN. For this reason we will be at the Dubai International Boat Show again in March.”
With these two letters of intent signed, together with the 68m letter of intent, the CRN facility is now busier than ever with six yachts underway. In build are four steel and aluminium superyachts, 74m CRN 131, designed by Zuccon International Project; 73m CRN 132, designed by Omega Architects; 60m CRN 133, designed by Francesco Paszkowski Design; 55m CRN 134, designed by Nuvolari & Lenard; and a Ferretti Custom Line 124 and Riva 122' Mythos made of aluminium.
