Second sloop from Perini’s 60m line arrives in Viareggio

Hull number C.2218, the second hull in the new generation 60m sailing yacht series from Perini Navi, has arrived in Viareggio.
The 60m series is an evolution of the 56m series, and sees the return of Ron Holland as its designer. Holland collaborated with naval architects at Perini Navi to produce new lines for optimum speed, comfort, and a spacious interior and exterior.
The hull and superstructure were built in aluminium at the Perini Istanbul-Yildiz shipyard in Turkey and will now stay in Viareggio until her delivery date in early 2014. She has a displacement of approximately 570 tonnes and gross tonnage of under 500 GRT.
Perini are already building a third yacht to join the 60m series, but on spec. The decision shows the yard is confident the series will emulate success seen in the 56m series which sold ten units.

The sailing yacht will accommodate 12 guests in five cabins including a full beam owner’s cabin. Her interiors have been designed entirely in house at Perini.
She will also feature a Perini Navi designed sail control system and a lifting keel whose draft ranges from 4.40m to 12.30m.
