Superyacht Launches in August 2012

The shipyards kept busy in August, and new launches that took place this month have included the 85m Quatroelle from Lürssen.

Launches


Koji - On 1 August 2012 Leopard Yachts launched 34m Koji. Built for a European owner, Koji is the 16th unit delivered in the Leopard 34m line. Read more here.



Marina Wonder - Gulf Craft have completed their second 38.4m Majesty 125, named Marina Wonder. The yacht will debut at the upcoming Monaco Yacht Show. Read more here.



Quatroelle – Lürssen Yachts have launched Project Bellissimo. Named Quatroelle, she is 85m with a beam of 13.80m. Her building was supervised by Moran Yacht & Ship and she is designed inside and out, by Novulari-Lenard. Read more here.



Stella Maris - At 72m the largest superyacht ever to be built by Italian shipyard Viareggio Superyachts (VSY), Stella Maris, has finally been launched following a series of logistical challenges for the yard caused by her size. Read more here.

Progress Reports

Project Sunset – Sunrise Yachts report that their 45m Project Sunset is progressing well and on schedule for her 2013 launch. Read more here.

Dream Symphony - Dream Symphony, the 141m by Ken Freivokh Design, which began construction at the beginning of March last year, is on course for delivery in 2016, as images of the build are released by Dream Ship Victory. Read more here.


Deliveries

Nassima - Fresh from her launch on 23 July, Nassima has successfully completed sea trials prior to delivery to her owner and her Monaco debut. Read more here.

Polaris - The 45m EP148 Horizon Polaris explorer vessel has undertaken her fifth sea trial, in the form of a two-day cruise to Pong Hu. The trial involved quality control testing of all mechanical systems. The yacht is currently for sale. Read more here.

Topaz - At 147m she is one of the largest superyachts on the water. Lürssen's Topaz has now been delivered to her owner. Read more here.


Refits

Kahu - Fitzroy Yachts have completed the year long refit of MV Kahu, an ex navy vessel, for yard owner Peter White-Robinson and his family. Read more here.

Sultana - Launched as Din-Dina in 1969, the 26m yacht was found abandoned in a French yard in 2007 by a Dutch sailor. Feadship have since rebuilt her to her former glory. Read more here.

SuRi
- Bay Ship & Yacht Co. is close to completing an 11m mid-body extension on SuRi, the San Francisco Bay shipyard confirmed. The ex-crabbing vessel, which served as her owner’s shadow vessel to a 50m Hakvoort for a number of years, was 51.8m before she arrived at the facilities in January. Read more here.
