Cantiere delle Marche signs contract for Nauta Air 86'

Cantiere delle Marche (CdM) has confirmed the signing of a contract for the construction of the first Nauta Air 86’ explorer vessel, part of the Nauta Air range designed by Nauta Yachts. The 26.2m vessel is for an Australian citizen with Thai residence who envisages using her on cruises around the Indian Ocean. Commenting on the news he said:
“Unlike any expedition yacht I have ever seen of this size, the Nauta Air 86 has stylish lines making her refined and elegant looking while remaining a true blue water cruiser. I am totally satisfied and proud of the customisation and I am sure this will make my first custom yacht extremely comfortable.
“I can honestly say that the team at CdM, especially Ennio and Vasco, have made this a smooth process and have been very attentive to all of my queries and countless questions. The CdM factory is a wonderful new facility with a really great team on board; I got the feeling that everyone is a giant extended family. I am looking forward to the next 18 months and building the perfect boat…also a lot more of those long Italian lunches!”
The yacht itself is an aluminium explorer designed by Nauta’s Mario Pedol. The focus of the vessel is on exterior spaces with a 50sqm panoramic Flybridge that includes a sun area and al fresco lounge. Regarding the interior layout, the access to the owner’s suite has been separated from the general entrance to the lower deck and cabins. A private escalier on the main deck leads directly to the owner’s suite, affording total privacy.

Reflecting on the Nauta Air range CdM’s sales and marketing director, Vasco Buonpensiere, said: “What Nauta Yachts has achieved in translating our brief into the Air range, is close to perfection: boats with a lot of character whilst maintaining the simplicity and the cleanliness of their lines. Boats expressing a ‘Roaring Elegance’ indeed.”
The widespread use of clear glass merges the interior and exterior spaces, a philosophy evidenced in the design of the kitchen on the main deck. The main salon however, has been positioned centrally for a ‘precise division of space’.
The news comes just weeks after the Ancona-based shipyard launched 26m explorer yacht, Percheron, and is the seventh explorer vessel in the CdM order book in the last 24 months. The announcement also coincides with the unveiling of the range, which was only presented to the public at the beginning of July.
Lee Marine has been acting as a distributor for CdM in the Asia-Pacific region, a partnership CdM has attributed, in part, to the surge in its success. Joshua Lee, managing director of Lee Marine said of the arrangement: “The team at CdM and Nauta Yachts have been outstanding from the first meeting and were able to meet the client’s every need. This range will enjoy great success in today’s new market and we are proud to have sold the first one.”
The shipyard has also claimed to be close to signing two more contracts, for German and Israeli clients.
