Nautor's Swan launches 24m Swan 80S

Finnish shipyard Nautor’s Swan has launched its 24.4m Swan 80S from its yard in Pietarsaari, Finland.

According to the shipyard, “the Swan 80S is an up to date expression of the fast maxi-cruiser concept,” encompassing both a modern technical design, built to be fast, whilst also having been built in keeping with the company’s traditional elegant lines.

Her performance oriented hull and deck layout also feature comfortable internal volumes alongside her technical features, the combination of which allow her to offer long-range cruising capabilities. The hull exhibits a near plump bow, opening out to a modest beam carried aft with a broad flat section towards the stern, whilst her T-shaped bulb keel and deep balanced rudder below the waterline ensure responsive manoeuvrability of the sailing yacht.



Internally she holds the owner’s cabin and three additional guest cabins, as well as a large main saloon on a raised floor.

Commercial Director at Nautor’s Swan Luca Lucheschi commented: “The Swan 80S is a natural extension of the SwanLine. Offering two distinct versions of the Swan 80 enables our owners to tailor the layout according to their planned usage of their Swan."



Lucheschi added: “The Swan 80S has many features to ensure comfort and luxury while on board, allowing both relaxed leisure time at anchor and extended blue-water sailing for the more adventurous.”

In the months after her May launch, the 80S will enjoy the Baltic summer before travelling to the Mediterranean in time for the biannual Rolex Swan Cup from 10 – 16 September 2012 at the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda in Porto Cervo.
