Technical launch for Turkish built RMK 4500

Turkish-based yard, RMK Marine has launched the RMK 4500, a 45m Ron Holland designed superyacht first unveiled at the Monaco Yacht Show and now nearing completion. The beautiful yacht was launched using the yard’s purpose built launch and recovery slipway that serves RMK’s build and refit facilities.
The RMK 4500 has been built within the critical MCA 500GT Limit and its layout allows for a capacity of 12 guests and 11 crew, either for a private owner or the high-end charter market. At the 2011 Monaco Yacht Show it was announced that the boat is for sale for €19m and will be ready for an owner for the 2012 season.
Over the next few months full sea trials will be undertaken including dock testing of all the equipment followed by comprehensive sea trials, as well as the inspections required by Lloyd’s Register.
The RMK 4500 has been designed to cross the ocean with maximum efficiency and comfort, maximising fuel range within the constraints of a twin screw displacement motor yacht. The ‘superb’ natural stability and comfort is supplied by Naiad’s zero speed stabilisers, sized to ensure optimum performance.
A spokesman for RMK Marine said:
“You can now see the wealth of details and features on board that separate this yacht from others on the market.”

Powered by twin Caterpillar C32’s, there is ample power to run the yacht at full displacement speed or to adopt an efficient fuel saving cruise. A comprehensive electrical generator system includes two Kohler 125kW main generators and an emergency generator in a separate space. All this feeds the power management system sited in the engineer’s control room.
The spokesperson continued:
“All the other equipment onboard has been specified to the highest standards of quality in the industry, from Halyard to Muir, the specification of this beautiful yacht is second to none.”
