Fleet News: Build shots of the 60-m Fox refit
By Ellie Brade
We recently reported on a new entrant to the new build market, in the form of Thailand-based Ruea Yachts, a division of management company Yacht Solutions. To read that story click here. Under the management of the Twist brothers, Gareth and Simon, owners of Yacht Solutions, Ruea Yachts is looking to help put Asia, and specifically Thailand on the superyacht map. Their first demonstration of what they can offer as a builder will come with the completion of the conversion of a 60-metre former British Naval hydrographic vessel, a two year project that is now drawing to an end. Having been sold to a well-known Hong Kong businessman, he commissioned the Yacht Solutions team to refit her. Although dubbed a refit, the process has been more like a rebuild, with her being stripped to her bare hull and work on the yacht - known as Fox - will complete in October 2010. Work in this extensive rebuild includes the complete redesign and extension of the bow, the installation of a six-metre swimming pool with a lifting cover on the main deck, an eight-seat cinema and a private balcony in the master suite.
