Global Superyacht Forum 2013 - Building Relationships
During session four of the Global Superyacht Forum 2013, Victor Muller shared his experience on becoming an owner of a superyacht for the first time.
“I sold a few of my spectacular classic cars to buy The Highlander. It was the silliest decision of all time because I sold a 250MM Ferrari to buy it.
“The Ferrari is now worth probably $50m, and The Highlander is not. So it was pretty stupid. However, I don’t regret the decision for a second because I created something.
“There is always something happening on board a yacht. There is always a new experience. That’s what it’s all about. That’s why I’m not regretting the decision to buy the yacht and let the Ferrari go.
“I think, if you can get more people to understand this privileged way of life properly, more people would get into yachting.”
