'Step One' makes show debut at Monaco

The new Amels 55m Step One will make her first outing at the Monaco Yacht Show this September. With a sun deck measuring 24.5 metres long, and a helipad with 2000kg take-off weight, Step One is the first Amels 180 of the Amels Limited Editions range, designed to bridge the gap between semi-custom and full custom yachts.
The superyacht’s streamlined exterior was drawn by renowned British designer Tim Heywood and her full custom interior by Laura Sessa from Rome. Step One passed all tests on the first day of her sea trial in April, satisfying Lloyd's Register and the owner’s representative, Moran Yacht & Ship.
Amels has reported annual growth of 10% over the past four years. It also ranks third in HISWA Holland Yachting Group out if its fifteen members for number of yachts delivered in 2011 or under construction, tangible proof of its strong position in the industry.
Amels is member of the Dutch Damen Shipyards Group, owner of 39 shipyards and marine-related companies worldwide. Damen, a family owned company, employs over 6,000 people, delivered 150 vessels in 2011 and has an annual turnover of approximately €1.3 billion.
