Superyacht associations join forces with American Superyacht Forum

The largest conference addressing the American superyacht industry returns to Fort Lauderdale in 2012 with the tenth anniversary of the American Superyacht Forum to be staged between 21 and 23 May.
Celebrating its tenth year, and offering proof of the value it offers US industry bodies, the conference promises to deliver another incredible platform for all sectors of the industry to grow and develop their long and short term strategies. Last year, amid a challenging period for the US market, the forum provided the platform for a concerted drive to attract more yachts to American waters. This action plan was later embodied in the Come Sea US campaign. The forum also saw the launch of The Superyacht Group's own Economic Impact Survey, which following its completion, provided a tangible example of the value that the superyacht industry adds to the American economy.
By returning to Fort Lauderdale, the home of the American superyacht industry, The Superyacht Group has been able to further strengthen its ties with the Florida Yacht Brokers Association (FYBA), International Superyacht Society (ISS), Marine Industries Association of South Florida (MIASF) and the U.S. Superyacht Association (USSA).

All four associations are key drivers and motivators of the American superyacht industry, and by using the American Superyacht Forum as a platform, they hope to inspire, motivate and build on the positive output of last year’s conference.
In 2012, the American Superyacht Forum will showcase a powerful programme that will deliver a focal point for the most influential gathering of key superyacht professionals, all of whom have the American market at the heart of their business plan.
The superyacht market’s biggest client base is still in America, and in order to understand the challenges to boosting ownership, it is essential to re-evaluate how the industry informs, involves and increases their business potential. By returning to Fort Lauderdale, the Superyacht Events Team has been able to scale up the event, with increased attendance, fantastic and original networking opportunities and excellent conference programming.

The Florida Yacht Brokers Association was created in 1987 to unite those engaged in the yacht brokerage business for the purpose of promoting professionalism and cooperation among its members; and to promote and maintain a high standard of conduct in the transacting of the yacht brokerage business.
The International Superyacht Society (ISS) is the sole organisation serving and representing the large yacht industry worldwide. Society members are individuals and companies who have been recognised for their leadership and dedication to raising the standards of design construction, maintenance, repair and operation of large yachts. The ISS has a membership-driven mandate to continually promote initiatives of real value to the large yacht industry and is dependent on both membership and sponsorship revenue to support and implement significant programs toward this end.
Marine Industries Association of South Florida (MIASF) members - comprised of marinas, boatyards, boat builders, megayacht manufacturers, yacht and charter brokers, craftsmen, technicians, marine suppliers, wholesalers and retailers plus a wide range of other marine related businesses - are primarily located here in the South Florida region to serve this world renowned marine community known as 'The Yachting Capital of the World'. From its ownership of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show to its support of other marine events, family recreational boating and the range and quality of services available locally, the MIASF's mission is to promote, protect and enhance boating as "The Lifestyle of South Florida".
The United States Superyacht Association (USSA) works to advance the U.S. superyacht industry as a whole and serves as a coordinated advocate on major issues affecting the industry. The USSA is a trade association, with members represented by businesses and individuals who have a bona fide U.S. presence and activity in the superyacht industry. They currently represent of over 120 businesses and individuals, encompassing 20 U.S. States and additional associate members worldwide.
