Sunrise Yachts' 50m concept to appear at Cannes and Monaco
By William Mathieson
Comments
Turkish yard, Sunrise Yachts has unveiled a 50m concept, in collaboration with Espen Øino and Franck Darnet, which will be exhibited at the Cannes Boat Show and Monaco Yacht Show.
The design focuses on the relationship between light and space, with ‘an abundance of natural light’ and ‘innovative distribution of space’. The result is a long-range displacement yacht that can accommodate 11guests in spacious surroundings. All service areas have been moved to the lower deck creating space for four guest cabins on the main deck and a full-beam master suite.
Other space-optimising elements include an aft salon that opens into a semi-covered terrace, a main dining area with fully retractable doors and a semi-alfresco upper salon.
The long-range element is facilitated by the installation of a twin controllable-pitch propulsion system, which can improve fuel efficiency by approx 20 per cent.
The first vessel will be delivered in 2013.
