Shaking up the design calendar

Something a little different is coming to Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour in June…

As we begin to reveal details of the programme of The Superyacht Design Forum, and we unveil the array of subject matters and our incredible line-up of speakers, we believe this will be the most innovative conference programme in the sector’s history, taking for the first time, superyacht design as a subject matter within the broader discipline of design as a whole.

It is both fascinating and educational to discover the areas of design which are a little more unprecedented and controversial, of which many will be discussed and challenged during this new event, which is coming to Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour in June.

With the creation of this diverse programme, which you’ll be hearing more about in the coming weeks, there were a number of imperative objectives which will make the 2018 edition of The Superyacht Design Forum unlike any other superyacht event. We felt that, based on the jam-packed superyacht calendar, there is a huge amount of repetition in terms of subject matter, speakers and announcements. Therefore, the Superyacht Events team trawled through countless programmes and other events from outside the industry, and the vanguard of conference programming in order to identify the topics that have bypassed our industry, so that they could be explored for the first time in June.

Based on feedback from the 2017 edition of The Superyacht Forum, networking opportunities are imperative to a successful programme. And there is no better networking space than Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour, where delegates can congregate and let their hair down, amidst the array of showrooms that Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour has to offer. This year, we have devised a number of networking opportunities, coupled of course, with gorgeous food, bubbles and cocktails, which will include one of Design Centre, Chelsea Harbours famous and unmissable parties on the evening of the 26th June.

When I wrote the article, Not just another event, we really did mean it. We feel that there really is a need to shake up the superyacht programme calendar and create an event that is fun, useful and truly ‘worth attending’. I’m excited to reveal more about the event over the coming days and weeks.
