Designers’ Den at The Superyacht Forum

This year, we are inviting young designers to showcase their work in front of superyacht icons.…

Introducing the latest concept at the 2017 edition of The Superyacht Forum, The Designers’ Den. Here established, eminent designers will take to the stage and advise younger designers on their concepts, providing their unique viewpoint and advice to the next-generation.

The session will invite junior designers currently working in studios and design students from universities, to submit their work either publicly or anonymously to the panel. Designs will then be put forward to celebrated superyacht designers, including Ken Freivokh and Martin Francis, who will then review the work and suggest ways to enhance the concept.

Due to the proliferation of superyacht designers and the number of new concepts coming through as a result, the ability to create good new projects that can actually offer something new to the market is becoming an increasingly more difficult task. As a result, the Designers’ Den has been created to provide invaluable feedback to newer entrants to the market, and advice that can be used to create a better standing in the market.

This opportunity is open to all young designers and naval architects, either at university level and juniors within superyacht design studios. The entry requirements for the Den is the submission of a superyacht concept with an LOA over 30m with basic specification. All projects will then be put forward to the panel for review. The latest date for entry is 9 November.

The Designers’ Den will be held on Thursday the 16th November at The Superyacht Forum held in Amsterdam from the 13th – 16th November. To enter and submit your designs, please contact rachel@thesuperyachtgroup.com with your concept and specifications.
