Bringing superyacht interiors to life

We explore what goes on behind the scenes at List General Contractor…

When it comes to making the interiors of a superyacht come to life, it’s not just a case of securing the best possible designer to work with. In reality, those that truly bring a superyacht interior together are those who source, create and install the interiors. Since 1950, List General Contractor (List GC) has been deciphering designer briefs from around the globe in order to materialise some of the world’s greatest superyacht interiors.

Specialising in the yacht new build and refit industry as well as the luxury residential outfitting sector, the family owned and run Austrian company always been one for to strive for the highest possible quality in all projects, through the use of both traditional and futuristic craftsmanship and engineering. List GC’s holistic approach means that entire chain of interior outfitting comes from a single source; including sales, project management, engineering, manufacturing, assembly and after-sales and refit.

In June 2017, List GC opened the doors to its own production facility following a nine million Euro investment which now amasses to a total of 14,000 square meters of space and the ability to complete the entire chain of production in one location. Situated in Bad Erlach, approximately 50 kilometres south of the Austrian capital city of Vienna, this unique and purpose-built facility now includes 6,650 square meters of production and logistic facilities as well as 2,700 square meters of office and exhibition space.

Every project is unique when it comes to interior outfitting, every designer will create something different using materials with different designs. Everyone has a different way of communicating what they need, from hand sketches to modern 3D renderings so we have to be extremely flexible. But the designers will choose how they want something to be, and we will make that happen to the best possible finish.”
