Dutch yard Wajer & Wajer has revealed that it is now putting the finishing touches to an all-new tender model, the Wajer Osprey 34, which will be making its debut in mid-2011.
Slotting neatly between the 28 Captain’s Launch and the Wajer Osprey 37, the Wajer 34 is an elegant and timeless tender packed with innovative technical features that will ensure it retains its value for years to come. At just under ten metres, the model attempts to synthesise a sense of luxury with forward-looking technology and advanced design. Among the unique design features is a 150-degree rotating swimming platform, which significantly enhances the accessibility and user-friendliness of the stern section.
Based on feedback from existing Wajer owners and the market in general, this tender uses classic wooden details but still ensures ease of maintenance. In addition to Wajer’s distinctive wooden frames around the windows, the 34 also has new eye-catching wood detailing around the cabin top and cockpit edge.
A reduced water displacement, lower weight and improved hydrodynamics ensure enhanced stability in waves, increased manoeuvrability and an unprecedented level of comfort. In collaboration with Vripack Naval Architects and Van Oossanen & Associates, a great deal of attention has been paid to course stability and onboard comfort at low speeds, as well as the prevention of slamming by rolling waves against the hull. A particularly deep V-shaped hull ensures a profile that maximises the waterline and reduces slamming to an absolute minimum.
Construction of the first Wajer Ospreys 34 has already begun, sales have started and delivery is scheduled for mid-2011.
