I remember during my first few years as a junior stewardess we had a very expensive, beautiful commercial-size espresso coffee machine that was a little intimidating to use. But the hardest part was getting the milk to froth "just right" using the steam wand. I often tried to avoid making cappuccinos because it was such a struggle and the clean up was even worse. Trying to get all the hoses and pieces cleaned out after each use was a time waster. I knew there had to be an easier and more successful way to froth milk.
It wasn't until I had worked on a few different boats that one of the chief stews had this little machine. Any stew that works in service knows just how many coffees she has to make and usually very quickly. The Aeroccino can froth and steam enough milk for more than one cappuccino and the clean up is simply a wash of the one container in a matter of seconds before it's ready for another round. It takes up very little countertop space and in the many years of using one, I've never had any breakdowns or malfunctions.
You simply pour the milk in and push a button. A few seconds later you will have perfectly frothed milk, hot or cold – your choice. It is best to hold a spoon on the edge and pour out the steamed milk first and then scoop the beautiful froth on top. It is great for making iced coffees or even some cocktails.
The only factor that really affects your froth is the type of milk you use. Especially on yachts; as we travel to foreign countries and the milk is quite different so you make have to test out a few.
This Nespresso machine is available at places like Williams Sonoma, Macy’s or Amazon. It is very affordable and will make your life as a stew much easier.
The only factor that really affects your froth is the type of milk you use. Especially on yachts; as we travel to foreign countries and the milk is quite different so you make have to test out a few. Even different brands here in the States froth differently.
I would highly recommend the Nespresso Aeroccino to anyone who loves a beautifully presented, creamy cappucino or latte.
