Must-see features at SuperyachtDESIGN Week

The event, held next week in London, sees a number of new interactive initiatives for guests to explore.…

UK, London. With only a few days until SuperyachtDESIGN Week, we are highlighting the must-see initiatives that are taking place over the three days. These experiences are all held alongside the programme of keynotes and workshops and are not to be missed!

Ian Briggs of BAC Mono is the opening keynote of this year’s event; the presentation will look at the inspirations, processes and developments behind this incredible machine. The BAC Mono will be on display in the Design Centre Domes for the entire event, offering guests the chance to explore and experience the unique vehicle.

This year, the showrooms at Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour will demonstrate the wide range of options available when looking to source materials, furniture and products on our Designer Moodboard. With renders of interiors from select design studios, showrooms will have the opportunity to suggest samples to match the Designer MoodBoards. Watch as an idea evolves using real examples of material, fabric and products sourced within Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour; don’t miss this in the Designers’ Walkway.

A bit of light relief, competition and an excuse to celebrate Wimbledon, find our table tennis table outside the Design Hub and challenge fellow guests to a rally between workshops. A perfect way to relax after a hard day of creative thinking!

Each year the market is presented with new concepts offering innovative ways of thinking about design, features or style. But what are the areas that work well versus the spaces that need fresh thinking? The General Arrangement initiative encourages SuperyachtDESIGN Week (SYDW) guests to pinpoint these areas in a bid to create a heat map of a yacht – the strengths and weaknesses from a general design perspective, using grey spots and pink spots to highlight areas need fresh design thinking and areas that are essential to a yacht’s GA.

Throughout the Sparkling Showcase Reception on Tuesday evening, guests have the opportunity to take part in our Showcase Quiz on the event app and see how much you know about the world of product design, as well as the latest technology available to superyachts.

Full of fresh ideas and enthusiasm, students always offer interesting insight at the event. In such a competitive market it is not easy to showcase in front of the right people. SYDW provides the platform they need to show off their unique perspective. The Student Showcase will be on the third floor of the north dome at Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour. Make sure to stop by and see these next-generation of designers.

Finally, this year’s SuperyachtDESIGN Week has its very own app! Download on your smartphone to access the full programme, see all attendees, send direct messages to speakers and much more! Already registered for the event? Simply search ‘SYDW’ in the app store and download.
