Dutch maritime heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) specialist Heinen & Hopman Engineering has unveiled its new superyacht cooling solution for lazarettes as a response to what the company has highlighted as an increase in the size and luxury of tender garages.
The new cooling system, Tender Garage Cooling, can be fully customised to varying owner requirements and as well as offering heating, cooling and ventilation, has optimal air conditioning controls. “Customisation is key in this industry, and our new solution takes this fully into account,” said Jessica van Montfoort, marketing and communications manager at Heinen & Hopman Engineering
The system comprises a frame and double-walled insulated panels made from AISI 316L and, as such, is resistant to sea water and air conditions. The unit also features a jet nozzle for a wide air-supply range and is designed to be explosion proof as required by ATEX class specifications, which the system has been produced in accordance with.
With the increasing focus on tender garages, they are now, according to the engineering company, carrying state of the art equipment which is often luxuriously finished and furnished with higher quality materials.
As SuperyachtNews.com recently reported, tenders and toys can be the cause of dangerous accidents at sea, so a high level of upkeep is of the utmost importance. “With tender garages becoming bigger and more sophisticated, the way they are air conditioned has to be adapted to ensure that the tenders and other equipment is maintained in an ideal state,” added van Montfoort. “To avoid mould, corrosion and other damage, the space must be kept at specific conditions that minimise humidity. Our new specialised Tender Garage Cooling solution has been developed in response to this demand from the market.”
