Globally renowned brands return to partner with SYDW 2015

The hugely successful event welcomes back Awlgrip as a gold partner and showroom partners J. Robert Scott and Tai Ping Carpets.…

UK, London. SuperyachtDESIGN Week 2015 is the ultimate stage for leading brands to interact and meet with some of the most artistic minds of the superyacht industry. Held from 23 – 25 June in the heart of the creative community at Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour, previous speakers and attendees include Andrew Winch, Terence Disdale, Ken Freivokh, Rob Doyle, Evan K Marshall and Martin Francis. This three-day platform for leading luminaries continues to be supported by eminent brands.

Awlgrip has been a headline partner of SuperyachtDESIGN Week (SYDW) since its evolution from the Superyacht Design Summit in 2012, demonstrating its strong commitment to the world of large yacht design. Recognised for its quality and innovation, the paint specialist joins this year’s event to support and expand the current field of superyacht design. Ken Hickling, global manager of AkzoNobel, led a session in 2014 entitled ‘Limitless Colour’, which explored the future possibilities of using colour throughout the design process. Stay tuned for updates on what they will be adding to our interactive programme this year!

It was standing room only in the J. Robert Scott showroom in 2014, as the likes of Terence Disdale and Martin Francis gave a Q+A session to SYDW guests, as part of its partnership. A leader in luxury design, J. Robert Scott is globally recognised as the ultimate in home furnishings. The brand’s furniture and textiles specialise in exotic veneers, distinctive fabrics and quality craftsmanship. With over three decades of bespoke design knowledge, the team at J. Robert Scott produces custom-made furniture by hand for a truly bespoke experience.

Joining J. Robert Scott as a showroom partner will be Tai Ping. The carpet specialist’s visually engaging showroom wasn’t the only thing that captivated SYDW guests at last year’s event, as workshop attendees gained an exclusive preview of Tai Ping’s Yacht Collection 2014. Guests also witnessed the intricate craft of hand tufting, a method used to create Tai Ping's luxury products. Their beautiful portfolio has long been a favourite of superyacht owners and can be seen on Rising Sun, Limitless, Golden Odyssey, Princess Mariana and Ambrosia III. Founded in Hong Kong in 1956, the bespoke carpet manufacture has a number of established relationships with well-known designers, including superyacht creatives.

Showroom participation throughout SYDW provides a key platform in which to present new design pieces and concepts to a global audience. In addition, showrooms procure exclusive access to the 2015 programme initiative, Editor’s Picks.
