EYOS designs first tender

Superyacht tender supplier EYOS has embarked on a tender design of its own. Windy in Sweden is building it with three hulls  already snapped up by buyers.…

As a sourcing agency and supplier of superyacht tenders, EYOS Tenders has a pretty good idea of what people want. Now the company has decided to capitalise on its knowledge and design its own eight-metre tender.

In a joint venture with Windy Scandinavia AB in Västervik, Sweden, production is about to start on the new superyacht tender, which is based upon a design brief from EYOS Tenders. The boat, styled by Eidsgaard Design, will come with some clever features as standard, based on what the company has seen people requesting as add-ons.

The customised process is still preserved with the stylish features offered as optional extras, but with the bonus of being included in the base price. A forward spray hood, onboard shower, hose points in the forward locker for washing down the boat, underwater LED lights around the transom and lollipop boarding poles are some of the notable extras. An adaptable seating arrangement can carry up to 12 passengers in a neat bench format or nine passengers in more comfort.

The tender, with a single diesel engine and outdrive leg, has also been designed to maximize the yacht’s garage space with the incorporation of a folding console to keep it below 1.5-metres in height, while still maintaining a high freeboard to ensure a dry ride.

"We are very excited to be able to work with such a reputable firm as Windy on this superyacht tender project. We have been hugely impressed with their desire to build a top quality boat, and together we can produce an extraordinary tender," says John Apps, managing director of EYOS Tenders.

Trevor Fenlon, Head of Production at Windy’s Vastervik factory added, "We worked with EYOS Tenders on two of our SR52 boats and were impressed by their knowledge and understanding of the yacht tender market. We are very happy to enter into this project with them."

The new tender has already proved a hit with the market, with hull numbers one through to three sold. Only hull number four remains available. Both companies said plans were afoot for a Jet model with variations in size offered in the near future.
