A show at SYDW

Showcases at SuperyachtDESIGN Week return in 2016. A hugely popular part of the event programme, four brands confirm to display their works this June.…

UK, London. A vital part of the SuperyachtDESIGN Week experience is the opportunity for guests to meet the designers behind bespoke pieces and innovative technologies, as well as engage with the product itself. Each year, 10 select brands are displayed as showcases at the event, held from 28 – 30 June in London.

These showcases exhibit the latest and greatest in design available to the superyacht community. With the event fast-approaching, SuperyachtDESIGN Week (SYDW) reveals the first four showcases who will be participating this year.

A long-time supporter of the event, Crystal Caviar return in 2016, “SuperyachtDESIGN Week is always on our top list to be present at,” confirmed Marek Landa, owner of the brand. Offering guests the opportunity to create their own bespoke glassware last year, the Czech designers will continue to inspire attendees of the event with their beautiful crystal creations. Find out more about the company’s projects and collaborations in the upcoming issue of SuperyachtDesign, Issue 27.

Innovative technology and lighting company LUMISHORE will once again be at SYDW. “SuperyachtDESIGN Week is an event like no other,” observes Eifrion Evans of LUMISHORE, “The event brings together the superyacht world's most key, relevant and passionate people, to meet, to exchange ideas, to challenge preconceptions and discover exciting, creative and innovative solutions for this most demanding of industries.” Showcasing the latest in underwater light technology for yachts, LUMISHORE use state-of-the-art LED technology to create vibrant light displays.

A new showcase for this year, Eva Mechler will be displaying her beautiful wooden creations for guests. "Having attended as a guest in both 2014 and 2015, it is my aspiration to show my work live and direct at SYDW 2016,” remarked Mechler, “This is a wonderful opportunity to engage with designers and architects who are interested in bringing new dimensions of luxury appreciation to their clients.” Mechler’s pieces, widely used onboard yachts and ashore, use beautifully crafted carpentry to ensure the highest standards.

Oldenburger return again this June

Oldenburger also return this June to the Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour domes. Furnishing aircraft, superyachts and retail stores across the globe, Oldenburger use traditional techniques to craft wood into masterful interiors. “[As a showcase] we have a home-base where we can talk to the people,” notes Oldenburger CEO Jan Terlouw, “Having our own showcase is much better than just walking around as we are part of the event.”
