Interior crew programme announced for Monaco Yacht Show

G.U.E.S.T. will offer interior workshops and has announced the Tablesetting, Cocktail & Canapé competition theme.…

There was a time, not too long ago, where an upcoming show season, for interior crew, only meant detailing the superyacht, giving tours and ensuring the boat is ready for viewing at a moment’s notice. Yet more recently, year on year, interior crew have been given a steadily growing pool of activities, workshops and competitions to choose from, not only offering them, in the short term, the opportunity to enjoy the boat shows but, in the long term, the chance to development their careers.

Without a doubt, the body leading these changes is G.U.E.S.T. (Guidelines for Unified Excellence in Service Training), and G.U.E.S.T. has outlined its programme for the 2017 edition of the Monaco Yacht Show.

G.U.E.S.T. Interior Training Workshops

Date: Monday 25th September

Time: 15:00 – 18:00

Where: Mozza restaurant (a 15-minute walk from the port of Monaco)

Taking place two days before the official start date of the show (Wednesday 27th September), G.U.E.S.T. will offer three one-hour workshops on the topics of service, wine appreciation, and food and safety. Registration for each workshop opens soon (keep an eye on the G.U.E.S.T. website), but in the meantime put it in your diary!

G.U.E.S.T. Tablesetting, Cocktail & Canapé Competition

Date: Wednesday 27th September

Time: Throughout the day

Where: Monaco Yacht Show

The fourth edition, this competition is arguably the most anticipated event for crew. The competition is open to all yachts in the show, as well as those anchored just outside the port. The theme is a particularly good one this year: Ocean Wonderland, to highlight the two very important causes of ocean conservation and sustainable fishing, with all donations from participants going to L’Equipe Cousteau, whose mission is to “educate people to understand, to love and to protect the water systems of the planet, marine and fresh water, for the wellbeing of future generations”. Crew can register here.

G.U.E.S.T. Seminar and Prize Giving Ceremony

Date: Friday 29th September

Time: 15:00 – 17:00

Where: Yacht Club de Monaco

After an explanation of the G.U.E.S.T. Program and its value in improving the careers of interior crew, prizes will be awarded for the Tablesetting, Cocktail & Canapé competition that will have taken place earlier in the week. Crew will need to register to attend the Prize Giving Ceremony; registration will open soon, so keep an eye on the G.U.E.S.T. website.
