The Crew Report has been alerted to important information for those yachts cruising in south-east Asia, and specifically the approaches to the city of Vung Tau, Vietnam in the Saigon River and Mekong area. Reports have been received from a commercial ship master of an unmarked wreck in the area.

The wreck - a partially submerged ship - was sighted on 23 Dec 2013 in an approximate position latitude 10-17.7°N, longitude 107-03.00°E. According to reports thus far, no NAVTEX (Navigational Telex) message or Temporary & Preliminary notice has been issued about this wreck. A plot of the wreck's approximate position and photos taken from the reporting vessel has been provided.

Managers are advising that all vessels proceeding to Vung Tau, or navigating in the surrounding area, should exercise extreme caution.
