As part of its ongoing expansion and development, The Superyacht Group is pleased to announce two key appointments - Thea Cheney as its new editorial director and Roland Archdall as the group's commercial director. There have also been a number of other appointments and additions to the team.…

The Superyacht Group, the leading provider of insight, intelligence and opinion to the superyacht market, has announced key personnel changes and additions within the group, with the appointment of new directors. Roland Archdall has taken the position of Commercial Director, while Thea Cheney will assume the role of Editorial Director.

Commenting on his new role, Archdall explained, “Having been at the company over five years, I'm looking forward to using my knowledge of the industry to develop our portfolio of client services.”

“With new additions to the account management team in recent months, we are focused on working more closely with a broader range of companies than ever before.” These new additions comprise Phoebe Jackson as a Junior Account Manager, Tom Pugh-Jones as Group Sales Executive, Kylie Rea as Junior Account Manager and Stephanie Wink in the position of Account Manager.

“Our mission is to continue to offer media and communication solutions that ensure we think differently to the competition and continue to bring buyers and sellers closer together with marketing campaigns that deliver real value”, Archdall added.

As the new editorial director, Cheney will retain an active role on the group’s flagship product, The Superyacht Report but will also be assuming a management role - overseeing the entire portfolio – The Superyacht Report, The Superyacht Owner, SuperyachtDesign, The Crew Report - as well as the group’s digital products. “My mission is to ensure better collaboration and communication between the group itself, as well as our contacts in the industry”, she explained. “I’ll also be focusing on empowering our journalists and external contributors to talk about the difficult issues and the ugly truths out there. The Superyacht Group has long been respected for our honesty and integrity across all of our products and I want to reinforce this.”

Investments have also been made in The Superyacht Intelligence team with four new researchers specialising in European and Asian markets coming on board. This growth will increase capacity to meet the demand for bespoke research projects that the group offers as part of their client marketing strategy.

Other changes involve Andrew Johansson will also be moving to become managing editor of SuperyachtDesign whilst Angela Audretsch will assume the same position for The Superyacht Owner. While the previous managing editor, Lauren Barker will take up her new role within the newly formed company, The Superyacht Agency as a project manager, expanding the agency’s portfolio of bespoke marketing and communication strategies.
