Superyachts in the Pacific

The Superyacht Intelligence Agency looks to understand the impact of superyachts in this region...…

A number of high-profile events are taking place in the Pacific region in the next five years. The 2019 Rugby World Cup is to be held in Japan in 2019, as well as the Tokyo Olympics in 2020, and the America’s Cup in New Zealand in 2021. These events will undoubtedly attract superyacht owners and charter clients, who wish to experience the action and explore the surrounding areas.

In order for the superyacht infrastructure to fully support and engage with visiting vessels before, during and after these events, is undertaking a comprehensive research project. In order to The Superyacht Intelligence Agencygauge the positive effect that yachts, their guests and crews will have on these regions, the project will analyse superyacht operating expenditure and economic impact.

It is irrefutable that a visiting superyacht can have a significant economic footprint on the areas that it visits. In order to fully comprehend this, the survey is asking captains, pursers, chief stewardesses, charter managers, owner representatives and yacht managers to share their experiences of operating in the Pacific. The survey, which is completely confidential, will seek to understand all elements of a yacht’s cruise, from the provisioning allowance and timing of a charter, to the weekly expenditure of crew.
