Rondal extends workshop

The mast builder says “the sky’s the limit” now for composite one-piece mast production under the roof of its new 78m long workshop.…

Mast-builder, Rondal, Netherlands, has extended the length of its composite workshop to 78 metres.

Projects have already begun in the enlarged facility, with work underway on the 73m main mast for Perini project C.2227, a 70m ketch for which Rondal is supplying the complete rig package.,

The speciaiist manufacturer said a further extension was possible. Depending on the scope of its commissioned masts, the new facility can be extended to accommodate a maximum length of 100 metres by connecting additional sections to the workshop.

Rondal quips that “the sky’s the limit” now for composite one-piece mast production.

The new extension can be made even bigger if demand calls for it

The extension will be equipped with optimized heating equipment using the Gurit SE84LV pre-preg system. It is split into sections to achieve optimum production environment for each project, depending on the total length of the mast.
